{15 THINGS YOU CAN DO, RIGHT NOW, TO SHIFT YOUR ENERGY & FEEL BETTER} // ↠ Move your body: I don’t care how slow or how much, just set your system into motion (stretching will suffice, walking is great, dancing is even better!) ↠ Lie on your back with your legs up the wall: put one hand on your belly or your solar plexus (the place right under your ribcage) and one on your chest- feel your breath lifting your hands. ↠ Drink a tall glass of water ↠ Eat something that came from the earth. Better yet, go outside barefoot and lie down on the earth ↠ Open a journal (or grab some paper) and write your stream of conscious thoughts for 10 minutes (note that I said “write”, as in, with a pen- no phones allowed!) ↠ Text three people in your life something that you appreciate about them. If you can’t think of three people, write something to yourself in your journal ↠ Walk someone’s dog..or yours :) ↠ Clean out a drawer ↠ Download @headspace and start their Take 10 Series (aka spend 10 minutes in a guided mindfulness practice) ↠ Place one hand on your heart and repeat to yourself: “This is a moment of suffering. Everyone feels this way sometimes. May I be kind to myself”. Breathe in, breathe out, wash/rinse/repeat ↠ Do one thing on your Adulting list ↠ Make a cup of tea, no caffeine ↠ Self massage: break out the coconut oil and slather yourself up: touch activates the Care Circuit in the brain, activating oxytocin, releasing hormones that protect against depression and anxiety ↠ Go outside, close your eyes, and let the sun/wind/rain/snow kiss your face ↠ Build a fort (or whatever else helps you connect to play & your younger self)
